A Special Visit Visa is for someone who wants to come to visit the UK but are not a tourist, business visitor, entertainer or sports visitor. The applicant may be a child visitor, or the parent of a child student in the UK. With a Special Visit Visa they may be visiting for private medical treatment; however will not be able to receive treatment on the NHS. The applicant could be coming to get married or simply passing through. You are entitled to spend up to 48 hours in the UK, passing through without a Visa.

Duration of a Special Visit Visa
A Special Visit Visa lasts for up to two years if granted for more than one entry to the UK. However the applicant can only stay in the UK for up to six months. They must be prepared to leave the UK after this time so it is advisable to plan the trip carefully.
